Infinity Plain
The Last JediInfinity Plain is a named landscape in the Dathomir setting, presented in the novel as a place Jax Pavan has visited with Magash Drashi and as the view from a balcony room high on the flank of Augwynne Djo’s main tower. The evidence gives it little physical description, but places it beside a consequential exchange: Jax acknowledges Magash’s support while reckoning with knowledge whose implications he does not yet understand.
Setting and View
The plain is associated with the main tower through a small balcony room that overlooks it. Magash leads Jax into the room, and the narration notes that the view is there by luck—or by Augwynne Djo’s sensibilities. The scene establishes the Infinity Plain as a visible landscape beyond the tower, without specifying its size, terrain, or distance from the building.
Jax and Magash at the Plain
Jax thanks Magash for going with him to the Infinity Plain, helping him draw knowledge from the Holocron, standing by him, and befriending him. The location is therefore tied not just to the view from the tower but to a shared undertaking between the two characters. Magash’s immediate concern is what Jax has learned; he explains that he does not yet understand how time manipulation works and may never fully understand it. He describes his mind as containing a storm of disjointed knowledge that he needs to fit together. The scene makes the plain’s narrative association one of companionship at a moment when discovery has brought uncertainty rather than mastery.
